Welcoming a new baby into your family is one of life's most beautiful and transformative seasons. My goal is to create a relaxed, comfortable experience where you can slow down, soak in these fleeting moments, and preserve them through timeless imagery.

Based in Woodstock, Georgia, I photograph newborns and growing families throughout Atlanta and North Georgia. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, every session is thoughtfully designed with your family's comfort and your baby's safety in mind.

Welcome To Your Newborn Photography Experience

The best time to reserve your newborn session is during your second trimester, though I welcome inquiries at any point during your pregnancy.

Rather than booking a specific date, I reserve space around your due date to allow flexibility for baby's arrival. Once your little one is here, we'll finalize your session date based on your family's needs, ensuring a relaxed and stress-free experience during those first few weeks of life.

Step 1: Reserve Your Due Date

After booking, you'll receive everything you need to prepare for a relaxed and enjoyable newborn photography experience.

Together, we'll discuss:
  • Studio or in-home session options
  • Color and styling preferences
  • Parent and sibling portraits
  • Wardrobe guidance
  • What to expect on session day

My goal is to create a session that feels uniquely tailored to your family while maintaining the timeless, heartfelt style that defines my work. Every detail is thoughtfully planned so you can simply relax, soak in these fleeting moments, and enjoy time with your newest little love.

Step 2: Session Planning

When you arrive at my Woodstock newborn photography studio, everything will be prepared and ready for your baby's session.

The studio is thoughtfully designed with both parents and newborns in mind. The space is kept warm and comfortable for little ones, and all wraps, props, fabrics, and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between sessions.

While your baby is being photographed, you're welcome to relax in the client lounge, enjoy a coffee or refreshment, and take a moment to slow down during this busy season of life. Families with older siblings will also find a small selection of toys and activities to help keep little hands occupied.

My goal is to create a calm, welcoming environment where you feel cared for just as much as your baby.

Step 3: Welcome To The Studio

Your baby's comfort and safety are always my highest priorities.

Every newborn session is completely baby-led, meaning we follow your baby's cues throughout the entire experience. Feeding breaks, cuddles, diaper changes, and soothing time are all welcomed and built into your session schedule.

Your baby will never be rushed, forced into a pose, or placed in a position that compromises their safety or comfort. Each setup is approached gently and patiently, allowing your little one to remain relaxed and content throughout the session.

As a professionally trained newborn photographer who has completed multiple hands-on mentorships with Ana Brandt, I am committed to following safe newborn photography practices at all times. My goal is not only to create beautiful images, but to provide a calm, safe, and enjoyable experience for both baby and parents.

Step 4: A Baby-Led Session

Common Parent Concern:
"What if my baby won't sleep?"

Don't worry. Some babies sleep the entire session, while others prefer to stay awake and take in the world around them. Beautiful images can be created either way, and your session will never be rushed based on your baby's needs.

Parents and siblings are always encouraged to participate in your newborn session.

While the focus may be on your newest little love, some of the most meaningful images are often the ones that capture the connection between family members and the overwhelming love that surrounds a new baby.

My approach to family portraits is simple, natural, and timeless, allowing genuine connection and emotion to take center stage. These are the images that often become family favorites for years to come—tiny hands wrapped around yours, proud siblings snuggling close, and the quiet moments that mark the beginning of a new chapter together.

Because while babies grow quickly, the feeling of welcoming them into your family is something you'll never want to forget.

Step 5: Family & Sibling Portraits

After your newborn photography session you'll receive a beautifully curated online proofing gallery where you can view and select your favorite images from the session. After your selections have been made, your final images will be professionally edited and delivered within approximately 10 business days.

From there, you'll be able to download your images, share them with loved ones, and preserve your memories through heirloom-quality artwork and printed products designed to be enjoyed for generations.

Step 6: Hand Editing & Gallery Delivery

Frequently asked questions about newborn sessions

Everything you need to know before booking your session

The best time to reserve your newborn session is during your second trimester. Booking early allows me to reserve space on my calendar around your estimated due date while remaining flexible for your baby's actual arrival.

Most newborn sessions take place within the first 5–21 days after birth when babies are typically sleepier and easier to pose. However, beautiful newborn portraits can be created at any age, and I happily photograph older newborns as well.

Once your baby arrives, simply let me know, and we'll schedule your session within the ideal timeframe based on your family's needs and my availability.

When Should I Book My Newborn Session?

Don't Worry — Babies Rarely Follow Schedules

Once your little one arrives, simply reach out and we'll finalize your newborn session date. I intentionally leave flexibility in my calendar for newborn clients because I understand that babies arrive on their own timeline and birth rarely goes exactly according to plan.

My goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible for new parents. Whether your baby arrives early, late, or right on time, we'll work together to schedule your session during the best window for beautiful newborn portraits while prioritizing your family's needs and recovery.

What If My Baby Arrives Early Or Late?

One of the most common concerns I hear from parents is, "What if my baby doesn't sleep?"

The truth is, every baby is different, and that's completely okay. While those sleepy, curled-up newborn portraits are beautiful, awake images can be just as meaningful. Tiny stretches, curious expressions, and bright eyes often create some of the most memorable photographs from your session.

My newborn sessions are completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, diaper changes, and breaks whenever needed. There is never any pressure for your baby to "perform" or fit a specific timeline.

Your baby's comfort, safety, and needs always come first. Whether your little one sleeps through the entire session or spends the morning wide awake, we'll create a beautiful gallery that captures this fleeting season of life exactly as it is.

What If My Baby Won't Sleep?

I recommend soft, neutral tones that photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on your family's connection rather than busy patterns or distracting colors. Timeless, coordinated clothing creates images that will look beautiful for years to come.

All clients receive styling guidance before their session to help make outfit planning simple and stress-free. Mothers also have access to my carefully curated client closet, featuring a selection of flattering, photography-friendly gowns designed specifically for maternity, newborn, and family portraits.

Whether you choose pieces from your own wardrobe or borrow from the client closet, I'm here to help ensure your family looks and feels their best on session day..

What Should We Wear?

Absolutely.

Some of the most treasured images from a newborn session are the ones that include the people who love your baby most. Parents, siblings, and immediate family members are always encouraged to participate.

These portraits tell the story of this new chapter in your family's life and capture the love, connection, and excitement that surrounds your newest addition. Whether it's a quiet moment between a parent and baby, a sibling meeting their new best friend, or a family portrait together, these images often become lifelong favorites.

Family and sibling portraits are thoughtfully incorporated into your newborn session, creating a gallery that beautifully documents not only your baby, but the people who cherish them most

Can Parents And Siblings Be Included?

No. My Woodstock newborn photography studio is fully stocked with professionally curated wraps, blankets, headbands, bonnets, outfits, and props specifically selected for newborn photography.

Everything needed for your baby's session is provided, allowing you to arrive, relax, and enjoy the experience without the stress of gathering supplies. Each setup is thoughtfully styled using timeless textures, soft colors, and carefully chosen accessories to create beautiful, cohesive images.

If there is a special heirloom item, sentimental blanket, or meaningful keepsake you'd like incorporated into your newborn portraits, you're always welcome to bring it along. Otherwise, simply bring your baby, and I'll take care of the rest.

Do I Need to Bring Anything for the Session?

Yes—absolutely. Your baby's safety and comfort are my highest priorities during every newborn session.

I have completed multiple hands-on newborn mentorships with Ana Brandt and continue to invest in ongoing newborn safety education and training. Every pose is approached with safety first, and your baby will never be placed in a position that compromises their comfort or well-being.

Newborn sessions are completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and breaks as needed. No pose is ever forced, and some images are created as composites when additional support is required to ensure your baby's safety.

As both a trained newborn photographer and a mother myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person handling your baby. My goal is to provide a calm, safe, and comfortable experience while creating beautiful, timeless images your family will cherish for years to come.
